| Immigration | I was told by my Aunt Ellen that her grandfather, my great grandfather, Cornelius, met his wife, Margaret Cosgrove, on the ship from Ireland. I had found a ships passenger list on www.Castlegarden.com with a Cornelius Corcoran born the same year coming from Ireland and landing in New York on 5 Jul. 1849. I had thought that this was my great grandfather, it wasn't. I had professional researchers find a Cornelius Corcoran traveling with a Margaret Cosgrove on a ship from Ireland to the US landing in Philadelphia 27 Nov 1853. It would have been one of the last of the famine ships. Patrick Corcoran |
