| Death | Thomas B. Corcoran Contractor Thomas B. Corcoran, 85, of 2520 Edgmont Av., died early today at his home after an illness of sevreal months. Mr. Corcoran was born in Thornton, the son of the late Crnelius and Margaret Corcoran, and had lived his entire life in the Country. He came to chester in 1895 and had lived here for 56 years. He was a contracting stone mason and was in business for 48 years, retiring 17 years ago. He had worked on numerous structures in Chester and throughout the county. Among the buildings on which Mr. Corcoran had done the stone work are St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 9th and Madison streets; Larkin School, 9th and Crosby streets; Nativity Lutheran Church, 22d Street and Edgmont avenue; First Baptist Church, 7th and Fulton streets and the Deshong Art Museum. Mr Corcoran married Mary J. Farrelly, daughter of the late Pter E. and Catherine Farrelly. He was a devout Catholic, belonging to St. Robert's Church and a staunch Democrat. He held membership in the American Catholic Union and Woodmen of the World. He was the father of 11 children, six of whom are living. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Neil B. and Ambrose B. of Chester; four daughters, Mrs James J. Morrissey, Mrs Harold R. Beardsley and Mary C. Corcoran of Chester and Mrs Walter J. Carroll of Parkside. There are 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren surviving. The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from his late home, with solemn mass of requiem being sung in St. Robert's Church at 11. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Media. Friends may call Sunday evening. |
