| Death | Thomas B. Beardsley, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday , November 2, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Chester, PA to the late Harold R. Beardsley and Ann Marie (Corcoran) Beardsley. He was a graduate of St. James High School in Chester, PA, and proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Tom worked as a supervisor for Sun Oil in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, United States, where he devoted 40 years of his life before h is retirement. He lived his life in New Castle before retiring to N. Wildwood, NJ and Vero Beach, FL. Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, and fun granddad, who enjoyed spending his days on his balcony watching the ocean. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren, giving granddad hugs and piggy back rides. Tom was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Peters Catholic Church in New Castle for man y years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, an avid runner, weightlifter , and enjoyed riding his bike. Tom was a loyal fan of the Phillies, the Eagles, and Notre Dame. His greatest joy in life was his family and ma king others happy. He will be sadly missed and always remembered. Tom is survived by his beautiful wife, Barbara R. (Anderson) Beardsley; his sons, Thomas B. and wife Valerie, John A. and wife Elaine; his daughters, Debbie A. Truszcienski, Bonnie Shahan and husband Joseph, Barbie Celano and husband Vincent; brother, Robert Beardsley and wife Alice; sister, Ginny Fallon and husband Joseph; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold (Brud) and Jess; sisters, Mary and Alice; his granddaughter, Nicole; and his favorite pet, Cappuccino. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thurs day, November 10, 2011 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 6pm-8pm and again on Friday, November 11th in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 521 Harmony Street, New Castle , DE 19720 from 10am-11am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. |
